18 April 2006 -- Biode has introduced a USB ready version of the ViSmart viscosity sensor for plug-n-play applications. The ViSmart with the USB connectivity option provides the customer with the ability to attach the ViSmart viscosity sensor to any computer platform via the standard USB port and instantaneously start acquiring viscosity and temperature data. Additionally, using any commercially available standard USB hub, the customer can acquire data from up to four ViSmart sensors and other physical parameter sensors integrated to the ViSmart by utilising the ViscNet software.
The Biode ViSmart, designed for challenging embedded applications, at a size of 1.3in x 1.1in x 0.4in, weighing 4ozs and sealed for complete immersion is a solid-state sensor without any moving parts, unaffected by vibration or flow conditions and does not need field calibration.
The ViSmart integrates to the eCup handheld reader or the ViscNet control hub to provide a continuous audit trail for process monitoring markets.
