AS5045 absolute analog magnetic rotary encoder integrated circuit from Austriamicrosystems USA has a 12-bit resolution at speeds below 1000 rpm, but operates at higher speeds with reduced resolution. The device provides absolute angle information in a digital format and targets motion-sensing applications that require a resolution below 0.1° of angle.
