24/11/2006 -- Analog Devices launched new analogue products at electronica, as well as an extension to its dsp portfolio and some new sensor products.
Conor Power, the company’s product marketing manager for instrument and automotive converters, outlined five benefits for the AD7150/7151 capacitance to digital converters. “They are low power, have a fast response, are sensitive, small and feature adaptive calibration.” Although aimed at industrial and automotive applications, the parts are said to be attracting interest from the consumer market.
Analog also unveiled the ADIS16024, an addition to the iSensor family. Bob Scannell, iSensor business development manager, noted the family was bringing a higher level of integration and ease of use.
The ADIS16204 is the industry’s first fully integrated and programmable high g impact sensor, providing a significant size advantage over existing solutions. The ADIS16204 provides dual axis inertial sensing, with ±35 or ±70g full scale range.
Meanwhile, the Blackfin family has had four products added. Stefan Steyerl, director of Analog Devices’ dsp and systems product division in Europe, said the BF54x devices used the same core for 100% code compatibility. Pin compatible, but with different feature sets, the parts run at up to 600MHz, with an internal bus bandwidth of 532Mbyte/s. There is up to 260kbyte of on chip memory, along with integrated High Speed USB On The Go and a MOST interface.
