The Swiss microsensor manufacturer Sensirion has launched its latest flow sensor chip suitable for use in fuel cell systems. It has been learnt from the official sources of Sensirion that the fourth generation digital micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) chip is designed to sense liquid flow in microfluidic systems and can espy and accurately measure very low liquid flow rates.

Sensirion is a high-tech sensor company providing foremost technology sensor components and systems for OEM applications. Within a short period of time by virtue of perseverance Sensirion has been able to be a trustworthy partner for the global OEM industry. It has been providing successfully to millions of sensors each year for a wide range of industrial and consumer applications in Europe, the U.S. as well as Asia.

The Company from its inception in 1998 has been able to maintain a steady growth due to a new proprietary technology (30 patents) that integrates sensors on standard CMOS semiconductors. With the help of CMOSens ® Technology, Sensirion chip sensors offer unbeatable customer benefits in a highly competitive global market. It has been widely accepted and is maintaining a steady rate of growth by providing high accuracy, excellent repeatability and low cost at the same time.

The growing reputation has bestowed many awards of which the latest one is the Swiss Economic Award 2004. This award is generally dedicated to young Swiss companies for their outstanding entrepreneurial achievements, a high potential for future growth and the zeal to reach the zenith.
In the modern age of automation, sensors are gaining more and more significance so as to make a pollution free environment rendering the human beings to live in a better condition. Intelligent sensor solutions make a significant contribution to improved quality, better process control, lower process cost and more safety. State of the art sensor solutions offer high functionality and high reliability and also lessen cost and thus offer an important benefit to the customer.

The major reason of the success being the dearth of the impressive development of any technology in the last two decades, in the same manner as the semiconductor technology. Though there has been the enhancement of performance it has been inversely proportionate with the reduction rates of cost drastically.

Sensirion along with CMOSens®, avail itself of opportunity of these innovations in order to enlarge outstanding sensor systems for the customers groups. CMOSens® expertise symbolizes an actual quantum leap with regard to precision, stability and cost reduction.

The company also added that the chief reason of noteworthy reductions in cost, size and weight had been the application of high level of on-chip integration had resulted in significant reductions in cost, size and weight. The chip weighs a total of six grams and capable of response times in the millisecond range, it allows for the monitoring and controlling of dynamic effect in microfluidic systems.
