APRIL 2006 -- The Efector Octavis Type VE vibration sensor from IFM Electronic, features integrated, frequency-selective diagnosis. Its RS485 communication interface transfers diagnostic values and calculated data to central control systems ensuring interference immune data transfer up to 200 m.
Meeting 1P 69 K requirements, Octavis VE detects imbalance, rolling element bearing damage, alignment errors and meshing, allowing machine damage to be detected as it arises, providing optimisation of plant uptime and increased efficiency in production.
Operating on 24 V d.c. Octavis VE has a 3 Hz to 6 kHz frequency range, a 1,25 Hz spectral resolution with a speed range of 120-12 000 U/min. The sensor is suitable for operation in a -30 to +75°C temperature range and is overload protected. Data is easily recorded, analysed and assessed by the system in a decentralised manner.
