2/22/2007 -- Millrock Technology introduces the new Opti-Dry™ freeze drying control system. Opti-Dry uses a robust PC/PLC platform with an Ethernet architecture for communication, providing simplified connectivity for multiple computers and external monitoring.
Opti-Dry software provides freeze drying control, manual operation, and automatic modes including defrost, and leak rate testing, as well as full synoptic screens for troubleshooting. Automatic system testing provides pass/fail indication.
Opti-Dry Pro software includes additional features such as eutectic point determination, product temperature feedback for recipe optimization, and end of primary drying determination, as well as automatic cycles for optimum drying performance.
End of primary drying may be determined by product temperature feedback, capacitance manometer differential testing, dew point measurement, or pressure rise testing.
Fully automatic mode provides closed loop control of the shelf temperature and ensures that the product temperature remains below either the eutectic point or critical product temperature. The result is the fastest possible freeze drying run.
The Opti-Dry control system is available on all Millrock Technology freeze dryers from laboratory to production, thus simplifying scaling.
