Edmonton, AB, November 24, 2006: Innogo Technologies Inc. has announced that it has been appointed a Canadian distributor for Parrot’s line of Bluetooth mobile phone accessories.
Parrot focuses on three areas of extension for today’s mobile phones: hands-free communications; audio streaming; and digital photos. Within these categories, the firm concentrates on digital signal processing for better sound quality; and voice recognition in both its hardware and software.
The firm’s hottest selling product to date is the portable MiniKit Bluetooth hands-free kit. This compact device resembles a mobile phone, and is about the size of a standard flip-style phone. It clips easily to a car’s sun visor; and can be slipped into a purse or pocket for easy transporting (it weighs just 104 grams). Once connected to a compatible, Bluetooth-enabled cell phone, users can make and receive calls via user-defined voiceprints. The MiniKit uses its own voice recognotion feature, not the phone’s, so the customer doesn’t have to handle the phone while driving.
The device boasts the latest generation of DSP-2 signal processing algorithms and a high-definition two-watt speaker. It offers 10 hours of talk time via its own rechargeable battery, and over one week of standby. Three buttons control several functions, like make/answer a call; volume, menu browsing, and option selection; and reject a call, end a conversation, or revert to the previous menu.
Up to five phones can be paired with one MiniKit at a time; and Parrot says that it works with “practically all Bluetooth mobile phones.” It comes with both an AC and 12 V battery charger.
