DSC of Concord, Ontario, Canada, has released the F2-300 Series dual-technology motion detector line. These detectors employ both microwave and passive infrared technology, each designed as independent motion detectors. When combined, the result is a detector that is said to eliminate single-detector false alarms.
According to DSC, the microwave detection pattern is adjustable to match room sizes of 10 to 30 feet. This is accomplished by adjusting a potentiometer on the circuit board in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, thereby increasing or decreasing the detection range. The infrared sensor views the target area using 24 beams on four levels. Each detector comes with wall-mount brackets for corner and angular positioning.
