3/15/2006 -- Test & Measurement World -- Advantech’s first dedicated USB-based thermocouple module, the USB-4718, accommodates seven different types of thermocouples (J, K, T, E, R, S, B), six voltage input ranges, 0- to 20-mA or 4- to 20-mA current input, and 16 isolated digital I/O channels. It provides eight 16-bit analog input channels with up to 0.01% accuracy for thermocouple, voltage, and current signals.
To simplify temperature measurement jobs, the USB-4718 is bundled with drivers and utilities that support Windows 2000 and XP, ActiveX control, and LabView; along with Advantech’s scaling, waveform, and datalogging software. The plug-and-play bus-powered module works with both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 buses. Base price: $325.
