Camarillo, CA - Binder-USA is proud to announce the addition of M8 protective caps to their 718 and 768 series M8 connector product line. The protective caps, when applied to unmated connectors, ensure a protection rating of IP67. These caps are ideal for use in factory automation and process control applications.
Protective caps feature a PA (polyamide) body, PUR (polyurethane) retaining strap, and a nitrile rubber (NBR) seal – a common material used for o-rings. Caps for use on cable plugs feature a retaining ring which allows the cap to be easily fixed onto a cable. When caps are correctly mated to a connector, they ensure a protection rating of IP67 which means the connectors are waterproof to a 1-meter depth for a 30-minute time period.
