With letter-bomb attacks in the UK recently dominating the headlines, Applied Scintillation Technologies announces the latest in its range of X-ray intensifying screens for use in security screening. The new SecureX HB is a high-brightness screen, available in large areas, designed for use in non-conveyorised X-ray detection systems for low throughput checking of baggage and packages.
The high sensitivity SecureX HB screen is particularly suitable for use in systems using multi level energy control for enhanced detection of plastic explosives, fine wires, incendiary devices and drugs. It can be used with free standing X-ray units, compact desk top units and portable X-ray viewing screens for on the spot examination of suspicious objects.
SecureX HB offers inspection systems manufacturers great flexibility and performance. The screen can be mounted on a variety of rigid supports if required, including carbon fibre. Screens can be manufactured to the size and shape determined by the application, so there is no waste or cutting. It is particularly well suited for lens-coupled systems working in low light conditions.
The high gain and improved resolution is achieved using a proprietary phosphor blend which results in 30% more light output than conventional rare earth based screens. Containing no cadmium, these screens comply with the RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment) Directive.
