With the recent introduction of the GigE standard, Firstsight Vision
already offers area and linescan GigE cameras from Dalsa, and Pulnix,
together with parent company Stemmer Imaging's Common Vision Blox
(CVB) hardware independent machine vision toolkit, emphasizing the
importance of this technology to machine vision applications.
Interconnection of machine vision components using Ethernet
technology allows fast, inexpensive communication over long distances.

The PP520 provides automatic operation with current-rated and voltage-
rated lighting, providing plug and play operation using patented Safe-
Sense™ technology. Control functions include power regulation,
intensity control, and timing and triggering functions required for
machine vision systems.

The controller can act as a miniature web server with control by
image processing software operating on a PC. It can be configured
using a standard web browser.
