11 May 2007 -- Kistler Instruments has introduced a special version of its Type 6182B miniature mould pressure sensor for use when moulding plastics material reinforced with glass-fibre and other abrasive materials. The Type 6182BCE has a chromium plated front face but is otherwise identical to the standard product including single wire technology for quick and easy installation in multi-cavity moulds.
Sensitivity is 2.5 pC/bar over the operating range of 0 to 2000 bar in the melt temperature range up to 450 deg C.
The operating temperature range is 0 to 200 deg C and the front diameter is only 2.5mm making the sensor suitable for small parts moulding in multi-cavity moulds.
