Lafayette Instrument Acquires Technology Company

8/14/2006 -- The Lafayette Journal and Courier is reporting that Lafayette Instrument Company is acquiring Oregon-based Acumar Technology.

Lafayette Instrument manufactures medical measurement devices.

The purchase of Acumar includes the rights to its product line of digital inclinometers, which make spinal measurements and detect a range of motion.

The digital inclinometers made by Acumar allow for data point storage and feature a wireless option to transmit data to a personal computer.

Terms of Lafayette Instrument's acquisition have not been disclosed.
