April 27th, 2007 -- Hatfield, PA (OPENPRESS) -- Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) has renewed and expanded its accreditation with the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). LTI has been re-approved for the calibration of a wide range of standards, gages, hand tools and torque wrenches, for field calibration services, and for dimensional testing. Approval was also granted to expand the scope of accreditation to include coordinate measuring machines (CMM), dial and digital indicators, supermicrometers, dead weight testers and force measurement.

The new A2LA certificates state that this laboratory is accredited in accordance with the recognized International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005, and are valid through March 31, 2009.

Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) of Hatfield, PA has been in business since 1984. The company specializes in materials testing, specimen machining, failure analysis and calibration services. The lab is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by PRI/Nadcap and A2LA, which is in compliance with and exceeds the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Mechanical, chemical, metallurgical and nondestructive testing (ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, X-ray and hydrostatic pressure) are performed on metals and alloys including those found in fasteners, tubular products, bars, plates and castings. The chemistry lab also analyzes powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, aerospace materials and nuclear materials.

LTI has the capabilities to test metals and other materials for strength and durability, flaws and defects and to determine composition and susceptibility to corrosion. Failure analysis testing can be performed to determine the cause of an unexpected failure in a product or part designed to operate under specific service conditions. A detailed report explains the cause of the failure and can provide information on preventing future occurances. LTI's machining division prepares test specimens for mechanical testing, including stress rupture tests. All services are performed using computerized numerical control (CNC) equipment in accordance with ASTM A-370, ASTM E-8 or ASTM E-23 requirements and customer specifications. The metrology division provides dimensional, pressure, force, torque, mass and vacuum calibrations for hand tools, gages, standards and measuring equipment. LTI also offers field services for surface plates, CMMs, optical comparators, hardness testers, balances, hand tools, and testing machines. Orders for electrical, flow, temperature and humidity calibrations can be subcontracted to the company's audited vendors. As a representative for Glastonbury Southern Gage (GSG), Vermont Gage, Mitutoyo, Boston Centerless and Starrett, LTI can supply new gages, tools and replacement parts. Instrument repairs are available. Information on LTI services and accreditations is provided at www.labtesting.com or from sales@labtesting.com
