21 March 2007 -- Manner Sensortelemetrie has developed a new compact, high-precision torque sensor with telemetric transmission on digital basis with 16 bits resolution. The torque sensors with telemetric transmission are available from SI Instruments . The main applications are in high qualified test rigs.
The torque sensing is based on the accurate strain gauge technology. The typical accuracy (linearity and hysteresis) is of 0.05%. Special features are the short length, high stiffness, no bearing and small signal pick up with air gap up to 20 mm.
A small temperature drift within the temperature range of –35 to +125°C and a high total accuracy of up to 0.1% FSO is characteristic. The mounting dimension of a 1 kNm torque measuring flange is 45 mm. Therefore, the flange can easily be integrated into an existing system. Flanges are available from 20 Nm up to 400 kNm. Alternate digital interfaces such as CAN, USB are available.
