04 January 2007 -- As more and more UK broadcast and post production facilities make the switch from CRT to LCD, DK-Technologies (UK) Ltd has identified a gap in the market for an easy to use product that can calibrate both types of monitor.
In response to this, the company has combined the features of its popular PM5639 CRT Colour Analyser and PM5639 LCD Colour Analyser into one simple, easy to use package. Delivered in a specially designed flight-case, the package is available at a price of £7,150 - significantly less than the price of buying both units separately.
The full package comprises a display unit, a CRT head unit, an LCD colour sensor, and LCD colour sensor stand and an LCD colour sensor spacer. DK-Technologies is also including a Sony automatic calibration cable and offering a free re-calibration service after the analyser has been in use for 18 months.
Andy Page, head of DK-Technologies (UK) Ltd, said: "Increasingly more high definition and standard definition monitors are using LCD technology, which is why so many broadcast, graphics and post production companies are switching to them. However these companies also retain CRT monitors for certain applications and therefore need a product that can accurately calibrate both types of monitor.
"Monitor performance is critical and calibration needs to be done regularly to ensure best results, especially in today's world where there is an increasing interchange of programme material from different sources such as TV studios and production houses. DK's colour analysers have been developed over many years and are recognised as industry standard thanks to their consistency, accuracy, ease of use and - above all - value for money."
