Microstar Laboratories, maker of data acquisition processor (DAP) boards, has announced sensor signal conditioning packages with data acquisition systems that eliminate all aliasing from sampling and that scale up to acquire data for applications with hundreds of inputs.

New ½ in. Preamplifier with Gain, Filtering and TEDS for Automotive and Aerospace Noise Source Identification and In-Cabin Test

Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2007-03-02 18:23.
Model 426A11 preamplifier includes both A-weight and selectable "High Pass" filter, for automotive or aerospace cabin testing requirements. The "A-weight" filter attenuates signals less responsive to the human ear, normally below 1 kHz and above 4 kHz. This filter represents how the human ear perceives that sound...

KineticSystems Releases New CompactPCI/PXI ADC Module

Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-01-04 16:52.
The CP213's 16-bit ADC scans each channel at a scan rate chosen by the user. The number of channels scanned and scan rate are software selectable. Scans may be triggered from either the internal clock, one of eight PXI backplane triggers, the PXI star trigger bus or an external SMB connector on the module front panel. Single and continuous scan operations are supported.

Analogue outdoes digital

Saul Research is a family firm that happens to be a fabless design house. Its services range from feasibility studies to delivered prototype analogue signal processing (asp) ics. “Most of our customers come along with a question as to whether their chip can be made at all, or economically,” says Saul. “We start with the customer’s idea, then turn it into a prototype.”

Semtech - High-gain data acquisition device for portable sensor applications

Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2006-12-14 13:43.
The SX8722 interfaces with most Wheatstone bridge chemical, pressure or magnetic sensors to condition and read data. The device features ZoomingADC, a 16-bit analog / digital converter (ADC) with a 10-bit preamplifier to allow the device to 'zoom in' on a small portion of the analog signal and apply the full 16-bit ADC to that part of the signal.

Wideband op amp targets industrial equipment

Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2006-12-13 16:28.
Incorporating a newly developed high-speed bipolar processing that enables high-voltage operation (at ±18V), the NJM2727 features high slew rate (300V/µs typ.) and wideband characteristics (fT = 40MHz typical). The NJM2727 is best suited for measurement hardware and industrial equipment...

Sensor-to-computer interface units

Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2006-12-06 10:27.
ADAM-4000 modules accommodate multiple types and ranges of analog input. Both type and range can be remotely selected by issuing commands from the host computer. One type of module satisfies different tasks, simplifying design and maintenance...

Sensor and processor range expanded

They are low power, have a fast response, are sensitive, small and feature adaptive calibration.” Although aimed at industrial and automotive applications, the parts are said to be attracting interest from the consumer market.

Analog - Motion sensing devices make integrated systems easy

Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2006-11-24 15:32.
Unlike existing solutions that use optical sensors, which can be unreliable and power hungry, the AD7150 consumes just 90uA, resulting in a 70 percent power savings. The AD7150 is ideal for use in portable and battery-powered products in automotive, industrial and even consumer applications, such as entry and security systems, remote detection and contact-less switches...

Signal conditioner IC enhances car sensor accuracy

Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2006-11-24 07:28.
Enhanced real-time diagnostics in the ZMD31150 detect faulty connections, shorts and power loss events. An error-correcting function in the EEPROM insures uncorrupted content and increased MTBF. This is backed up with an EEPROM signature check that detects severe multibit failures.
