UV sensor with calibration capability
Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2007-06-01 14:15. EMX Industries has announced the UVX-300-GC luminescence sensor, thought to be the first UV (ultraviolet light) sensor with a calibration function, possible through software algorithms
Firstsight Vision Introduces New UV and IR Lighting For Machine Vision
Submitted by nestorb on Sun, 2007-03-18 21:25. The IR range is available in 32 models, offering different illumination geometries for different applications. The UV LEDs are available in 31 different models and have a peak wavelength of 365 nm and a light spread of 20° for good intensity, range and uniformity...
High-Speed 8k Linear CCD Sensor For Industrial Inspection Applications
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-02-01 07:14. "By making the sensor products available, companies now have a low-cost option to optimize their defect inspection process. These sensors have high sensitivity in both the visible band and in the deep UV (ultraviolet) range, making them attractive for semiconductor inspection and metrology markets,"
AST Detector Coatings Used In Spectrometers
Submitted by nestorb on Tue, 2007-01-09 23:40. Detectors are coated with GOrg, a unique organic phosphor used exclusively by AST for robust UV applications as part of its ExtendUV range of phosphors. This high-efficiency phosphor is excited at wavelengths between 150 and 400 nm with an emission peak at 545 nm...
ExposED
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2006-12-06 09:09. The instrument, which comes with a Velcro strap, should be kept out of the shade, and Oregon Scientific recommends fastening it to a backpack. It does extra service as a clock and a thermometer.
Leading Korea UV-sensor supplier exports diodes, diode modules and photodiodes to buyers around the world.
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2006-11-01 22:02. Genicom Co., Ltd. is a leading South Korea manufacturer of UV sensors based on AlGaN materials.
UV Luminescence Sensor has long-range, high-speed operation.
Submitted by nestorb on Tue, 2006-10-31 11:50. Able to detect UV luminescent materials/markers over distances to 300 mm, BLT 31M combines adjustable light projection and high resolution to suit part detection and error proofing applications. Sensing range helps avoid incidental contact in manufacturing process, while 6 kHz response time suits high-speed applications. With optional 50 mm lens, projected light can be directed into 5 mm spot. Sensor includes auto-teach and manual programming as well as analog and discrete outputs.
Balluff Introduces Versatile BLT 31M - Ultra Long Range, High Speed UV Luminescence Sensor
Submitted by nestorb on Tue, 2006-10-31 07:39. The BLT 31M includes both auto-teach and manual programming. In addition, the sensor provides an analog 0-5 V output and one discrete output. Its analog output allows it to measure the intensity of the returned signal, allowing for easier set up and the ability to track process variations when deployed in error proofing applications.
NRL sensor to measure natural airglow in the upper atmosphere
Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2006-10-20 11:26. The second of five Special Sensor Ultraviolet Limb Imager (SSULI) remote sensing instruments, developed by the Naval Research Laboratory, was launched on November 4, 2006 on board the DMSP F-17 satellite. SSULI is the first operational instrument of its kind and provides a new technique for remote sensing of the ionosphere and thermosphere from space. SSULI's measurements will provide scientific data supporting military and civil systems and will assist in predicting atmospheric drag effects on satellites and reentry vehicles. A Boeing Delta 4 vehicle launched the Air Force's Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) F-17 satellite and the SSULI sensor into low earth orbit from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. SSULI will be powered on and start initial sensor checkout 30 days after launch.
Orion Unveils OS100 Gallium Nitride ultraviolet Sensor
Submitted by nestorb on Sat, 2006-08-26 15:46. While typical UV sensors generate a wide output range for a given UV index, the OS100 can be supplied to a +/- 3% tolerance enabling the device to be used without in-circuit trimming. Alternatively the device may be supplied in module form producing a known amplified output for a given UV intensity...
