Voltron-Like Modular Robot Demonstrated
Submitted by nestorb on Sun, 2007-03-11 19:01. Each bot module is effectively a robot in its own right, and can move independently, flip over and rotate like wheels. They also have 3D accelerometers that let them know their precise orientation. The six sides of each module can dock with any other module.

Apple Takes on Cell Phones
Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2007-01-12 23:19. Advanced sensors include an accelerometer that detects when the user has rotated the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display accordingly. A proximity sensor detects when the user lifts the iPhone to the ear and immediately shuts off the iPhone to save power and prevent inadvertent touces until the iPhone is moved away.
