Bosch Sensortec launches triaxial acceleration sensor
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-01-25 23:08. Bosch Sensortec is expanding its product range towards miniaturized sensors. In comparison with the current generation, its size is reduced by 50 percent. Measuring only 3 mm x 3 mm x 0.9 mm, the SMB380 fits into the smallest mobile devices. Its current consumption of less than 200 µA is reported by the company to be a benchmark in the market...
Three axis sensor for consumer products
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-01-25 08:05. By introducing the SMB380, Bosch Sensortec is consistently expanding its product range towards miniaturized sensors. Half the size of previous products, the SMB380 draws less than 200µA and offers a range of features, including a programmable interrupt pin...
Triaxial digital acceleration sensor
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2007-01-24 23:02. The sensor logic can be configured with the help of a programmable interrupt pin to analyze high-g or low-g thresholds or to recognize gentle movements.
Apple Takes on Cell Phones
Submitted by nestorb on Fri, 2007-01-12 23:19. Advanced sensors include an accelerometer that detects when the user has rotated the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display accordingly. A proximity sensor detects when the user lifts the iPhone to the ear and immediately shuts off the iPhone to save power and prevent inadvertent touces until the iPhone is moved away.
