Ultrasonic Sensors
Non-contact torque sensor is one in a million
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-06-07 13:34. At the heart of the TorqSense sensor is pair of tiny, interleaved, comb-shaped arrays laid onto one end of a piezoelectric substrate. By passing an alternating voltage across the terminals of these arrays, surface waves are produced in the substrate. The waves are received by a similar array at the other end which converts them back into an electric signal.
Level measurement in control
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2007-06-06 17:59. Vega offers a range of rugged level measurement devices designed to withstand pressure shocks, abrasion, moisture, vibration, pollution and condensation. Tough housings protect the fully potted electronics from the moist, humid ambient conditions and the harsh cleaning processes typical of this industry. To measure up to the increasing demands on operational reliability, SIL (Safety Integrity Level) classified instruments are available.
Sonus supplies small ultrasonic sensors
Submitted by nestorb on Mon, 2007-06-04 13:47. These sensors are suitable for installation in the smallest spaces or for the assembly of several sensors in the tightest places. Ultrasonic technology permits objects to be detected regardless of their colour or transparency. Due to their small mass of less than 4 grams, the new Sonus sensors are well suited for installation in all light, fast-moving handling units.
All-in-one torque sensor targets OEMs
Submitted by nestorb on Mon, 2007-06-04 13:34. Unlike traditional slip-ring transducers, the TorqSense sensors provide a simple non-contact technology for measuring the power in drive shafts and other rotating elements. Torsion is sensed by a pair of SAW strain gauges bonded to a shaft at right-angles to each other. One senses compression and the other tension, and this information is transmitted via a radio frequency couple to the decoding electronics which generates outputs for torque, speed, power and angle.

Get inline for loop-powered ultrasonic flow!
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2007-03-07 22:11. The new Prosonic Flow 92F is the world's first 2-wire loop-powered inline ultrasonic flowmeter, offering easy electrical and mechanical installation with minimal space requirement and high accuracy
Compact Long-Distance Ultrasonic Sensors Feature 1000 mm Scanning Range
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-01-25 10:22. The sensors feature an integrated teach-in button that allow the user to customize settings, and a lock out feature that prevents unwanted output programming changes. A four-pin M8x1plug connector provides easy wiring options. With an IP 67 rated polyester housing measuring 20 x 42 x 15 mm, these compact sensors are ideal for space restricted applications.
New Sludge Blanket Level Analyzer from Entech
Submitted by nestorb on Thu, 2007-01-04 16:52. The system consists of an analyzer that is capable of operating from one to four sensors or transducers for reliable and cost-effective measurement. Measurements are made by transmitting a high frequency sound wave and measuring the interval between sensor origin and the sludge blanket below.
Mammoth order for level transmitters from China
Submitted by nestorb on Wed, 2007-01-03 07:16. Siemens Milltronics has announced a major order from Beijing Dellsonics Science and Technology Co, their distributor in China, for 988 level transmitters
New Ultrasonic Sensors Utilize Microprocessor Technology to Enable High Accuracy in the Face of Environmental Variables
Submitted by nestorb on Mon, 2006-12-25 23:41. These ultrasonic sensors provide a reliable method of detecting level, presence/absence, volume, proximity and distance measurements. They incorporate microprocessor technology that accommodates for environmental factors such as temperature change, waves on liquid, tank irregularities, agitators and humidity, among others...
