Tmote Mini combines a Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller with a TI/Chipcon CC2420 low-power 2.4 GHz radio. The device is available in two configurations: The Standard module has 0 dBm (1mW) output power, while the Plus module's output power is +20 dBm (100mW). Both versions are compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4 Wireless Personal Area Network standard, and both can be used in networks already deployed with Moteiv's earlier Tmote Sky module.

The XR19L402/400 series offers different packaging and modem interface options. Both devices can operate in four different modes: active, partial sleep, full sleep and Power-Save. Each mode can be invoked via hardware or software. Upon power-up, the device is in the active mode where the UART and RS-485 transceiver function normally. In the partial sleep mode, the internal crystal oscillator of the UART, or the charge pump of the RS-485 transceiver, is turned off

Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will develop a new software experience and SanDisk will develop new hardware capabilities, including the addition of TrustedFlash™ security technology. SanDisk will incorporate the combined software and hardware solution on removable flash memory cards and Cruzer® USB flash drives. The new offering is expected to be commercially available starting in the second half of 2008.
