16 March 2007 -- Interworld Electronics’ new line of single and dual port RS-232/422/485 CompactFlash cards has features including 921.6 kbps data rates, optical isolation, low power requirements, 3.3V and 5V compatibility, and drivers for several popular handheld/PDA operating systems including Windows CE, Pocket PC and Windows Mobile.
The CompactFlash cards also provide support for Windows 9x, Me, 2000 and XP which enables them to be used in several tablet, notebook, desktop PCs and embedded systems as well.
The range includes the SIO-232/CF single port RS-232, the SIO-485/CF single port RS-422/485 card and the ISO-232+2/CF dual port optically isolated RS-232 card. The cards are based on the industry standard 16C550 UART and provide all standard baud rates up to 115K.
In addition the non-isolated cards feature an eight times baud rate multiplier allowing operation up to 921.6K baud. The SIO-485/CF card also features automatic RS-485 tri-state line drivers and can operate in RS-485 mode without any special software.
