January 1, 2007 -- Florence, KY: Balluff's new BOS 6k miniature (32 x 20 x 12 mm) photoelectric sensor enables transparent objects to be reliably identified regardless of shape, color, or composition. The new retroreflective sensor's extremely low hysteresis makes it is especially well suited for detecting transparent objects such as glass bottles, test tubes, or transparent films in industrial and packaging applications.
The BOS 6K is designed using the autocollimation principle. This means the emitter and receiver are on the same optical axis, ensuring a high degree of switching accuracy. A built-in polarizing filter suppresses interference such as reflections, thus increasing process reliability.
The sensor's pulsed, visible red light increases ambient light rejection and makes setup and adjustment a snap.
